Ways to Support

Make A Difference For A Child Today!

Canine Classmates is 100% funded through the generosity of our donors. Donating money to Canine Classmates is a meaningful way to make a positive impact on the lives of students in our literacy program or with victims in the courthouse program. By donating, you become an active participant in ensuring that resources and services continue to reach the vulnerable children that are served within our programs. All gift sizes add up to make a lasting impact!

sponsor a child

Gifts of all sizes add up to sponsor a child, whether it is students in school participating in our reading literacy program or a victim supported through our court program. For every $25 one child is sponsored.

give to scholarships

In 2024, Canine Classmates started an endowment to award scholarships to former Canine Classmates students. The endowment will last in perpetuity with scholarships awarded from the interest earned.

join the 100x100 club

We are looking for 100 companies or individuals to become Child Advocate Heroes by supporting our mission. Donors in this club will give $100/month or $1,200 annually and support us serving over 400 students through the literacy program and 40 victims in the court program each year.

How to Give

gifts of securities

Giving stocks and bonds that have increased in value (and that you have owned for more than one year) provides even greater tax benefits than giving cash. Not only is the market value of the securities deductible (subject to applicable limitations), but you also avoid paying the capital gains tax on the appreciation.

The value of the securities gift is the median of the high and low market price of the stock or bond on the date of your gift. If your stock is held in custody with a brokerage firm or bank trust department, you can make a direct transfer of the securities from the custodian firm or bank to Canine Classmates account.
